Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi,

I testet several keyboards on the disco but with no luck.
Even the board with installed mmbasic on will starts only if it
connectet to an usb port on an computer but will not start if the source
a normal phone charger with usb ( 1500 ma) in this case.
Btw: what do you think about a nestet funktion call entry .
So we dont need kill other functions for.Edited by plasma 2016-02-17

Works nicely for me with a Lenovo SK-8825. Disco powered from the USB ST-Link port direct from the computer so 500ma max

You are using the USB-FS port?Edited by matherp 2016-02-17

I made a stm32f429 version of mod32 player.
It's a 90% like the one use in mmsasic.
What is to modify is to use the sound data with the external audio dma.
If someone want to port it i can provide the source

Cheers.

I've been playing with V1.07 for a few days and it's great.
Is the source code available for 1.07?
I downloaded V1.0 from Geoff's site but was wondering about the latest version.

Is anybody working on adding file handling to this as not having it really limits what you can do?

I've written a small basic program to create a pop up 4x4 numeric entry window which works really well.
Is there anywhere to post programs like this? Just in case it may be useful to someone else.

I haven't played with micro controllers since the mid 80's
mostly Zilog z 8's programmed in assembly but I cut my PC teeth on GW basic, Quick basic and Quick C so this is a huge nostalgia trip for me!!

Thanks to everyone involved for all the hard work!!

Playing around with the source I managed to enable the file I/O and for now it appears to be working. I'll test it over the next few days.

Geoff, I'm really impressed. MM Basic is the muts nuts!!
Uwe , Fabrice I'm so happy you ported it over to this platform. It's really great.

I think matherp is now doing 3 or 4 new version per day
it will be hard for Geoff to know what to post on his source page ... he he he ..
But anyway it will be good if the version from the source can be written that
we can know what the actual state is

Cheers.

Uwe has the latest source. I haven't touched it since 1.07 was released by him. He is clearly the "owner".

It would definitely be good is someone had the time/skills to complete the File I/O routines

Hi All,

I recently found the MaxiMite port for the SMT32M746 Disco and was very much amaced by having this Basic interpreter system available there.
I have flashed the version V1.07, but discovering a lot of issues.
I have played around with the touch buttons to get familiar with it, but V1.07 seems to have severe issues here.
I downgraded back to V1.00, then things are looking better, although still some of the examples do make trouble.

V1.07 is out since quite some months already, are there any activities on the STM32 porting, does it make sense to report bugs? Is there maybe a newer release available?

Note that the last evidence of this project being worked on was from over three years ago. You would be much better off with the newish and currently-maintained ArmMite F4 port--see here and here

The part and LCD are available on aliexpress here for about $25USD.

(Note--you may want to edit your post to obfuscate your email address so that malevolent scrapers don't get it and bombard you. Also, followup, if you get the F4, should be on one of the above threads or a new one.)
