Sparkey, put the Maximite in front of you, with you looking at the back of the Maximite. If you now look at the I/O connector, you are looking at it the same way as the picture in the maximite manual. You have to work out whether yours is soldered in the right or the wrong way. Thats a matter of contention. The real reference is the picture in the Maximite manual. Time is nature's way of keeping everything from happening all at once. |

In you case; The original SC circuit diagram is correct. The circuit that came with the Altronics kit is correct The board overlay is correct. The 26w connector is correct The ribbon cable is wired 1 to 1 The pinouts on the expander are the same as the Maximite and the original circuit. The expander circuit diagram is correct and matches the original circuit. Regards Rohan P.s. Sorry, it is taking me a little longer than it should to get over it. Rohan, Some of the Silicon Chip diagram is in fact wrong. Specifically the pin labelling for the PIC, this was a real pain when translating the Maximite to the 100pin PIC device! Geoff's website circuit is correct. - Rob For crying out loud, all I wanted to do was flash this blasted LED. |

Look, I'm trying to get over this and move on.... Believe me I know what was right and what was not, I had to trash a whole board run because of the SC diagram having +5 & +3.3 reversed. As for the other stuff,....... Ok, clearly more therapy required.... Rohan Hamer HAMFIELD Software & Hardware Solutions Makers of the Maximite Expander. http://www.hamfield.com.au |

dear dom or don sorry um there is a slight setback with the "kvm" switch in the fact that the mouse plug is left haning at what you may call"floating " i dont know if it is just my particular unit but if the maxi is turned on then when u use the mouse on your "pc" selected it floats round like having a mouse pointer that runs a little wild ...may be that the left over mouse plug needs a ..how do i say a pull/up/or pull/down resistor added to that plug ...well theres my story sorry if i put this in the wrong post...regards sparkey....hope you and family are well ... technicians do it with least resistance |

dear don my "kvm"switch is years old and i dont know if anybody elese has tried this but it is only a two port switch ...um may only be that i only paid 10 bucks for it ..i remember having that floating mouse problem even when connected to two pc`s so dont despair others from trying it for them self ...also if the maxi is turned off it does not have this problem sorry i should have made more detailed entry but i also have not tried it with the maxi power comming from the usb ..will try in the morning and will post on this page regards sparky technicians do it with least resistance |
