Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I tried it long ago, but do not remember
the result. Obviously didn't change my life.

I have. It's like going back to 32-bit XP. While it was a good idea back when it started, progress has been glacial and it hasn't kept up with the times. I wouldn't trust it on a network since security updates are few and far between. For playing around with on a standalone machine, it's kind of fun but not for serious use. Recent builds have been pretty stable but don't expect the broad support for all kinds of hardware that Windows has.

Could be great in 2050 or 2100.

I had a play with it a few years ago, but decided that if I needed an XP-type system, I would just use XP as drivers and applications just work and XP is as stable as it is ever going to get at this point, whereas ReactOS was unstable when I tried it.

I still use one XP machine to play music 24/7 on my low-power FM radio station.
This machine is NOT connected to the LAN or internet though, it is a dedicated music player and nothing else is on it except for the station software and an audio processing application.
Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops!
