Hi everyone
I got my Adafruit sdcard  reader installed and configured thanks guys for helping figuring that out but it still tells me

Error : SD Card not found

I'm trying the same 16gb card I'm using on CMM2 and Retomite, I Checked all the solder joints under a microscope and everything looks OK
I am powering it from the micro usb on the pico it's self, do I need to use the power supply on the board ? if I do once I have that sorted what size (V-A Polarity) Power supply is it looking for ?

Thank You fot putting up with these stupid questions and all the support I've gotten from you guys
I turned the volume on the monitor to max and could hear sound. Thanks Stanleyella

Do "OPTION LIST" and show us the results. Maybe a good photo would help. Since there are several PicoMite VGA PCBs, it's probably best that you remind us which one you're using. Which version of the MMBasic software?

Is this Peter Mather's original board?

The power supply should be 5v - it’s labeled on the board. + tip. I use a cable with a USB A connector on one end and the 2.1/5.5 connector on the other end plugged into a USB 1 amp charger - though I believe actual power usage is much less than 1 amp.

I think the board should run fine from microUSB cable connected to a computer or USB charger

This may be of no help, except as a comparison.
My Pico VGA is powered via the USB lead from the computer. The SD card reader is a 5V type with 3.3V Reg. and level shifter chip, however it is supplied with 3.3V from the Pico. This means the SD card is only getting 3.0V but it still works well. Most cards will work down to 2.7V. I am using a 16GB SanDisk Ultra card.

Here are the settings:-

option list
OPTION KEYBOARD US
OPTION CPUSPEED (KHz) 252000
OPTION DEFAULT COLOURS WHITE,  MYRTLE
OPTION SDCARD GP15, GP14, GP13, GP12
OPTION AUDIO GP0,GP1, ON PWM CHANNEL 0

Sometimes the first attempt to read the card after power-up I get an error but after that it works.

I believe the PM VGA board I'm working with is the V 1.3 Lizby was so Kind to send to send me to build, and it has been the greatest adventure and time machine taking me back to being a Young Maker in Jr. High and High School with 8-bit machines and home brewing electronics, but I digress the only options I've set so far is :

which lead's to another inconvenience the top line is always cut off on ever Monitor I have, butI'm thinking once I get it on the Glass VGA Monitor I can make some size and position adjustments on the monitor
I turned the volume on the monitor to max and could hear sound. Thanks Stanleyella

I just updated my firmware and confirmed your Option SDcard command works as expected.

Are you sure the MicroSD card is fully inserted in the slot - the card should only stick out slightly past the edge of the board. Try another MicroSD card? Take a picture of the soldering on the module?

Check the supply voltage at the SDcard connector - across SD3V3 and GND, don't use a different GND point. 3V is probably the absolute minimum that most cards will work with now, although I've seen reports that they should work down to 2V7.

Check the circuit. Peter has decoupled the supply with 2R2, C1 and C2. Make sure you've fitted C1 the right way round. You could try changing C1 for a higher value to allow the card higher current surges during write.

Check for dry joints again - I'm an expert at them and can miss one the first time around. :) Check on the supply lines and the signal lines.

If all else fails, try a different SDcard as it could be a timing issue, although it's unlikely.

Rickard5,
Did you get your SD card working? If not, the problem may be the soldering on the Pico module pins.
Disconnect power, VGA, Keyboard from the PicoMite and confirm 0 ohms of resistance between:
Pico.    SD Module
GP10.    CLK
GP11.    SI
GP12.    SO
GP13.    CS

Now plug in power and confirm the voltage between GND and 3v pins measures close to 3.30v
