Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I have a client that dropped off 10 Nextion NX4832T035 Displays.
He wanted them to be used with a pico project we're doing.

When I looked into it I did not find a way to build the screens as my last
window based system was Windows ME over 20 years ago.

He looked at the editor and doesn't want to mess with it says it way over his head.

At first it looked good press a screen item and send serial to pico then pico does
the hard lifting. Just no way for me to build the screens without a windows system.

Has anyone used these displays?

I am thinking of having him return them and use the 3.5" for the RPi's.
I use them with my MM170 hatstands and pants controller boards.

Started changing over to RP2040 in place of MM170 in my hatstands even a few of
the pants will get the RP2040 chip.

Oh well onward

I've used the older Nextion displays with the PICAXE, and found that they provided a lot of functionality for devices with meager user interface abilities. The Picomite doesn't have meager user interface abilities, though, so there's little need for them (but I haven't looked at this model).

No idea how to build the screens without Windows.

Create the HMI on the device.....

Stick a HC-05 on the Pico, pair with an inexpensive 7" tablet and Robert's your father's brother

You get gobs of memory, a GPU, battery-backup, WiFi, possibility of remote access and a plethora of protective covers/enclosures

Edit: Oh "Microcontrollers" = Arduinos. Might be worth requesting the raw protocol, though.
