Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi
For those of us building the Colour Maximite from scratch
here is the dat file required to program the PIC32MX795F512L
with a PicKit 2
Select the PIC32 family manually. You will receive an error about memory space
this can be safely ignored

I have programmed my 2 boards with success

John, have you tried pic32prog? It programs all PIC32 except MX1 and MX2.

Is a software for your Pickit2, designed by the author of retrobsd project.Edited by vasi 2012-10-04

Latest version of pic32prog supports all PIC32 families, including MX1/MX2.

Thanks Serge, that is a great news! I have a MX2 board, waiting for a long time for a Pickit 3... Never intended to get one. Thanks again!

P.S. He, he, I think now I can try to "override" the USB bootloader which occupy 16Kb flash, with a serial one of only 3Kb... exactly the allocated boot zone (Microchip sources if I'm not mistaken).Edited by vasi 2012-10-04

This is for @elproducts...
Here is a better PK2DeviceFile.dat editor, made in C#, as the last version of Pickit2 PC software which I don't have (the sources).

Thanks, I'll check it out.

For anyone interested, I dedicate a page for building your own PICkit 2 with all the latest info and support I can find though I focus on supporting the 8-bit family of PICs. It works so well with Great Cow Basic so I incorporated it into the IDE I offer at Greatcowbasic.com.
