The TONE and PWM outputs are over attenuated on the ColorMax.
The PWM is so low as to not even drive a CMOS scmidt trigger.
I would suggest simply removing the 1kOhm resistors to ground
from the final out. It wouldn't hurt to lower (or short) the
4.7kOhms, but the main problem is the final (fullfrequency)
voltage divider .
