The CGMICROBOARD2 is a Micromite+ based Arduino-shaped board with support for the small serial LCDs. You can stack most shields on the CGMICROBOARD2 and have LCD access either on the back or front (off to side). Micromite+ signals were routed to the Arduino headers. There is a header for PS/2 keyboard and one for console. There are extra places to tap into remaining Micromite+ pins. There is also a micro SD socket. I'll have these ready for general sale when the firmware is out of beta. Until then anyone on TBS can purchase the production prototypes that I have in my lab. It will have whatever beta firmware on it that I happen to test with. You can load newer firmware when it becomes available. Buy them via: http://www.circuitgizmos.com/products/cgmicroboard2/cgmicroboard2.shtml Please send me a note stating that you are a TBS member. gizmo2009@circuitgizmos.com Micromites and Maximites! - Beginning Maximite |

I didn't like the power supply section that I made for the board originally, so I cobbled on some higher current parts. The next rev will have the layout support the new parts. Micromites and Maximites! - Beginning Maximite |

ICSP is GND/power/reset/clock/data and all of those are available on the Shield headers. Micromites and Maximites! - Beginning Maximite |

Amazing, the MM+ beta has only been out a month or two and now this. It is a great general purpose board with the essential features needed by someone who just wants to plug and go. Using this it would be so easy to build the next pump controller, robot brain or whatever. Congratulations Rob Geoff Graham - http://geoffg.net |

@Rob... Yep... Works like a champ..! Display popped right on... I used that double sided sticky tape to keep the SD card socket shell from touching anything on the back side and "hard soldered" the unit in place... Sweet..!! Next, the SD card test and KBD test... Humm... I wonder if you can use the LCD console mode and bring up the editor...??? Will give it a go.. Yikes..! bed time... Thanks Robert... Well done Sir..!! |

Well there we go! That looks great. Console only works on larger displays, I think. Right? Micromites and Maximites! - Beginning Maximite |

Yep.. Your right on that one... Anyway, Will be trying to connect up the LTC2983 thermo system to the board and start using it to run the "data gathering" part of the EIS project... I was going to do a setup menu thing through the USB port, but I think using the mini touch panel to do it is much less hassle for the end user... The starting GUI objects we have now should do the trick... Thanks again everyone..! This MM+ stuff kicks butt and is easy to use for dummy's like me... (sweet)... |

Received boards from CrcuitGizmos, Thanks. Firmware 4.7, Beta 23. Can't get them to work with ILI9341 2.8" displays, plugged directly in LCD port. D/C- pin 21, Reset - pin 22, CS - pin 23 as per board description label. Touch CS - pin 18, IRQ -pin 14. OPTION LCDPANEL ILI9341, L, 21, 22, 23 Reset board OPTION TOUCH 18, 14 Reset board GUI TEST DISPLAY Nothing, blank backlight only. Tried with 2 MM+ boards and 2 ILI9341 2.8" displays. During GUI TEST DISPLAY , can see signal activity with a scope on SPI port. Any ideas? |

Hi JohnL, I dont have a CGmicroBoard to tell you if your settings are OK, but how do you drive the backlight? The backlight should be ON before you see anything on the display.. The backlight is driven by supplying 3.2Vdc (direct connect to 3v3 is OK).. I suspect that might be your problem unless Rob has a backlight drive circuit onboard. Thanks Mick, I wasn't clear enough. I meant to say that nothing had changed from initial backlight being on, but no other display changes. I have just hooked up the same display to MM170 and working correctly with GUI TEST DISPLAY. I am suspecting that it has something to to with CGmicroBoard D/C, Reset and CS pins. May need Rob to clarify that they should indeed be pins 21,22 and 23 or otherwise. John |

I don't have the CGmicroBoard so I wired up a 2.4in ILI9341 to my Explore64 with the same pins. I had to use a different pin for the TOUCH IRQ because my Explore64 board uses pin 14 for the SDcard. Apart from that, everything works as expected with your pin numbers. You might have to try and trace the wiring on the board. Jim VK7JH MMedit MMBasic Help |

Without the display attached set the individual lines 21, 22, 23 to output and check that you can control each from BASIC. Look for a solder splash or other assembly error. Micromites and Maximites! - Beginning Maximite |
