Other than "Colour" being spelled strangely

I noticed this on both MM 5.0 on a MX170 with serial connection to Tera Term (VT100 emulation) and just now with MM+ 5.1 on a SnadPIC using USB serial port and Tera Term (VT100).

Today, with MM+ on SnadPIC connected through USB at 38400, if I enter "option colourcode on" and go into edit, the program displays as expected with proper highlighting except there are no function keys at the bottom. ESC of F1 to exit gives ma a blank screen. If I enter "option colourcode off" at the blank screen and go back into edit, the function keys appear at the bottom and when I exit, the text displays as expected.

Last week, I was seeing this same problem with MM 5.0 on an MX170 connected through USB/serial at 38400, 115200 an I believe 230400.

On the PC side, it is Win10 and Tera Term 4.88 set for VT100 emulation.

Thanks for any help that can be provide on my setup or confirmation that I'm not imagining things!

P.S. For MM+ on the SNadPIC, is the USB baudrate fixed at 38400? OPTION BAUDRATE doesn't appear to have any effect when directly connected to serial through the USB port.

I can't confirm this.

System:
MM 5.1 on a MX170, Baudrate 38400.
Win7 and Tera Term 4.85 set for VT100 emulation.

My guess is that the background colour the same as the function key text. Not sure about Teraterm but in PuTTY I wanted a black background and had to change the black text to actually be white (or another contrasting colour).

NEVERMIND, I get it!!

I'm of the age where TERMINALS have BLACK backgrounds!!

My Tera Term *HAD* a black background...now it is the correct colOUr!!

Thank you all, you can move along, there's nothing to see here.

If anyone with MODERATOR skillz can update the title of this to RESOLVED, that would be great. Edited by mindrobots 2016-01-26

Im with you 100%, if it hasnt got Glowing Green leters on a black background it is NOT a Terminal. And these damn laser things don't sound a bit like a real TeleType even when addressed as TTY:

I liked orange on black and vector graphics like the Tektronix 4051.
