Great thanks Mark, so we take our 240 output right from the toroid doesn't come from the control card like PJacks does.

Nup, power board just connects to primary of the torroid via the two heatsinks.

Secondary 240v power is made in the torroid, that gets sent to your filters and to house with safety switch, breakers etc.

You'll ideally tune the torroid for 75hz with the correct amount of capacitance directly across the secondary output wires on the torroid.

If you got the tlp523-2 that is a 2 channel, the top channel just wont get used.
Here is some info on them.


Mark, can I use TLP521 instead of TLP523? I can't find this component here in Brazil and I wouldn't want to import it.

I see no reason why not use the TLP 521.
It appears to have a faster turn-off time.
Good luck with the sync experiments!

Also, I have found in the second nanoverter I have built a problem
with EMI and the I2C communication to the LCD.
The first inverter is built in a large double case with the toroid and choke in
one box, and the rest in the other box, joined with a small opening.
The I2C LCD wiring is not effected by EMI in that build.

I built a much more compact inverter for the 2nd unit at home.
I discovered that EMI would be picked up by the I2C wires leading from
the nanoverter to the LCD and make nano2 lock up hard.
Only a power cycle would restore things to normal.
The EMI was obviously proportional to output loading. The lockups did not
happen when the inverter had zero load, only with about 1 to 2kW or so.
Interestingly I found nano1 kept driving the inverter correctly never missing a beat.

The fix for me was to attach yet another nano to the LCD, with the nano driving the 4 bit LCD interface sending data it received from the serial port.
Using the serial port has made it far more immune to EMI and I have seen
no more lockups.

The I2C interface depends on little or no low pass filtering on the signals
so I could not filter the noise away without rounding the clock and data signals too much.

The serial port (pins D0 and D1) seem to have some protection from EMI within the cpu chip.

Anyway, I thought I best put this info up here too.

I don't have a board in front of me, but pretty sure that is only if you intend to sync with a generator (no one has done this so far)
Here is a pic from Poida which shows the bare minimum parts needed to make the inverter run.



I would also use the CN1 connection bottom left and ground that to the power board

clip on ferrites to the lcd screen work fine too for EMI, that was one of the many issues in my 5 million page 6kw build thread. (good luck finding it in there).

I also put them on the on/off switch cable.

Mark, I tried the clip on ferrites, even one of those from the Mad controller
on the I2C wiring. Still got lockups very fast.

Going serial data fixed it and no ferrites needed, nor any other signal conditioning.

I really must look at the 328P datasheet's serial interface electronics. I'll bet there is some deglitching/noise control/EMI filtering going on.

I also had the nano lock up on the Mad Control board, the case of the lcd was touching the steel case of the inverter which should not have been an issue, inductive I think.
The quick fix was to remove the earth wire from the case and have had no issues since.

I'm thinking about a 3D printed mount for the I2C, clear of the case.

Use this cable for lcd .
Keep the wire short as possible, add a clip on ferrite or two.
That solved my problem.

Revlac, I may have inadvertently avoided an issue by using plastic stand offs to mount my lcd. They were recovered from the front cover on the aerosharp case.

Hello everyone! Thanks Poida, for the quick response! Could the TLP-250 also be used instead of the TLP523?

I would really like to use the nanoverter to synchronize with the power grid created by another inverter ... lol

I can ask Tinyt (if he can) to draw a single-sided power board. I want to mount a 12v nanoverter with output power of only 1000w. But I can't draw the circuit for a power board ... I've tried but I can't learn.
