I picked up a SMPC241-AU Series 1 for next to nothing at a salvage yard. Figuring it would have some nice usable parts inside. It looks unused so I gave it a quick test, AC pass through works fine.

I don't have any suitable batteries so i hooked the DC up to a single 35v panel to see if i can get it to power up.

Lights flash on and pre-charge led comes on then the alarm turns on and nothing else. Nothing stops the alarms and no lights are on except the precharge LED.

Does anyone have any experience with these?

Is it wishful thinking it would fire up off a solar panel?

manual

Reckon you'll need it hooked up to batteries to test, doubt it works if it was at the junk yard.
Might be lucky.

I know its wishful thinking

I just hooked the precharge points up to a 24v power supply and once it charges up all the lights flash on and off then the buzzer goes off and nothing appears to stop it.

OI0003_07 004122 SP PRO Manual.pdf

I've tried multiple way to reset and it will not play nice.

Its happy to pass through ac without issue  as soon dc is applied buzzer goes off.

Well the manual said to charge the pre charge circuit first, which is what you did.

I can only assume this is like the Ozinverter where you charge the caps via a resistor.

Perhaps open it up and look at that area, maybe a cap went fizz or there is an open circuit somewhere.
