I am betting it is very heavy

I hate to say my guess

I will say i don't think he is making much on shipping

I the says but I think it has 2  120 volt
Windings or legs and 8 20 volt windings

That is very lucky in used trannys that have under a 200 dollar price tag including shipping

It would likely still be a good deal with the extra shipping to the land down under

Since I was very dreamed of kangaroos and lightning and thunder

My day dream was added to few years back

Kangaroos lightning thunder porch swing cold beer and few awesome people to shoot the sh__ with

Do your own research i don't know nothing about the seller but vague memories

Ok maybe I will give a ballpark of what my  GUESS!!!! is

I think I talked to this guy maybe a year or longer ago

He had said he have several big trannys so I asked him put them up for sell

He though it was a waste of time because how much the shipping would be

So my guess is 80 to 100 pounds

If you need a tranny it is worth cheaking out

If only to come back and give me a hard time if I am wrong

Keep mind the swiss cheese brain that is trying to remember!!!

I think this guy knows has added some copper to one of these

If same guy he doubled the way under rated 24/7 rating

I can run my a little over 60 pound tranny  at close to 10k

I don't know how long until it heats up

I know by testing at 8k big load would cycle off before my 60 some pound tranny gets hot

My point is 8k maybe 12k or more will be possible if you can fit the copper through  hole

I have a over 20 pound new spool 12 gauge enameled wire lots more I already had a 70 pound core

Or I would buy one or two of them

REMEMBER CHECK FOR YOURSELF I COULD BE VERY WRONG

Thanks for the heads up on this Ben.

For some reason, this transformer and wires look small to me in the pictures.  (I know it is rated at 5kw and it's from a reputable vendor so it should be fine, but...)

On Wednesday, I asked the vendor for the approx weight.  Nothing back yet.

It's 18.5 kg, or 41lb.

Data sheet link is at the very bottom of page here

Follow the discussion for tricks to use it for 24v or 48v systems.

The fact it has many separate 20v windings makes it very versatile for various inverter battery voltages.

No idea what idle consumption it may have. If it was in Australia I'd buy 2 for that price.

A friend also told me it's not as big as I thought it may be

Maybe I was hoping to hard

I don't need any more trannys myself

It would be nice to see someone else get a really good deal

It is still alot cheaper than building one

Sorry if I got anyone's Hope's up to high

Hopefully someone can benefit from it any way

I bought two of these. The seller is within driving distance of San Francisco where I live, so I went and grabbed them. Keys for size:

BTW, the vendor has removed the shipping fees for this listing.

So you can get it for $60us, shipping included in the continental USA.

As of this note, he has 3 transformers left.

I ordered two, after a day, they emailed me and said that the free shipping was for a buyer that sent them shipping label. Now, they are asking for the shipping label or pay for the calculated shipping. So, I asked for a refund. I will find out what will happen.
