Here's my almost-complete build:

I've been designing my own 3d-printed case, as the Multicomp ones aren't all that easy to get here. It's almost entirely interchangeable with the original case. I'll release it when I've got one with proper cutouts for the ports

Nice build !

I like the purple board. Mine where "cheap" green...
But the combination with the blue casing is challenging !!

Much appreciated. Working out where the ports are supposed to live is harder than designing the case in OpenSCAD, so everything helps here.

Did you cut this on a Eleksmaker (like an A3 ?) or did you use more professional (higher power) cutter ?
I have one of these A3's and am still looking at how to use it best. It is quite accurate, but the laser itself is harder to focus for the real small stuff (PCB's). And it is only few watt. Maybe black plastic may work. Did not try that yet.

I use this although I've now upgraded it further with this laser module (I didn't pay that much!!!). Forget the 80W, it is actually two 7.5W laser diodes with the beams combined.

I'd love to 3d print my own case and make the front and back plate as PCBs.

Make sure you order the PS2 version, not the USB version....

Are these boards still available ???
And what would they cost ??

I was going to build a PicoMiteVGA first on breadboard and then on stripboard (whicH I might do anyway) but this looks much nicer !!!

I am in the Netherlands BTW.

Most of the PCBs for PicoMite projects aren't available to buy as it often costs more in postage than it does for the boards!

There are Gerber files on Geoff's site for you to get your own boards made. The cost is pretty low, e.g. I pay a bit over 6 UKP for five 100mm x 100mm boards from JLCPCB, including cheapest shipping. I don't know the cost of that particular board but it won't be an awful lot more.

I'd advise that you find sources for the components before getting boards made as sometimes availability changes after design.

The latest gerbers are towards the bottom of page 3 of this thread - use these rather than the ones off Geoff's site which I think are an earlier version

Hi Peter,

Sorry to be a pain (and probably a bit idle too) but I've successfully 3D printed cases for the PicomiteVGA (and having just acquired a CNC Router) I've just downloaded these DXF files to cut some aluminium panels.

However, I seem to have two front panel DXFs (the 40 pin end). I wonder if you could publish the back panel DXF again please. :-)
