Check your soldering of the SDcard socket as well. A short of the MISO (SPI-IN to the Micromite) line there could cause the problems you are seeing. Given that the LCD works it is almost certain that MISO is compromised

Looking at the pictures you posted (on my PC) it looks like there is some solder under the processor chip pins around 5 O'clock and 11 O'clock. I also looks like a few of the pins maybe dry joints that might look soldered but are connected by some flux residue only.

I would double check soldering on the processor again.
