@Grogster, do you have a link to your source of the 915MHz modules?

My 915MHz modules have arrived. That's not bad - ten days or so airmail.
They even included two little USB-serial adaptors, which were not in the auction listing - nice touch, and I will use them around the workshop.

I hope to setup a test link with them in the next couple of days, and I also want to put one on the spectrum analyser to see what it's output it like.

I need some help with my LoRa network. As discussed earlier I have set up an in field unit that has the SDI-12 probe interrogated by a Micromite and the information passed back to base over a virtual serial port using the LoRa radio link. This set up has worked flawlessly for some weeks sending back data requests every 10 minutes when polled by the base Visual Basic software.
The Micromite software has the console serial port connected to the radio (my original thoughts were that I could remotely access or modify the MMBasic software via this port) and the software is waiting at an INPUT prompt looking for the ID code of the unit and ignore if not the right one.
The problem I now have is that the network crashes if I have more than one remote unit listening and responding to the ID call. I first thought that I had issues with the power peaks required to transmit back and as mentioned by another poster, I put a 1000UF cap across the power leads of the LoRa units. This did not help so I decided to put a delay in the return transmission (up to 500mS) again no improvement.
I decided to have a play with the settings on the radios firstly dropping the power to the lowest possible and fiddled with other areas that I really don't have a good understanding of, mainly due to the very small amount of explanation in the handbook.
Any suggestions from shedders very welcome.
Graeme

Had another thought that may lead to a solution. Something simple as usual. The non-ID units will be returning the ? prompt and clashing with real data. Was a good idea at the time

I wrote a short introduction to LoRa and how the settings affect range here;
