Very neat installation , thats a great looking tower , getting that up in the air must involve a few hair raising moments ...

I think its sand, but I'm not sure.
Hi Antero, welcome to the site.
Let us know how the Exmork wind turbines go? It will be interesting to see how they last compared to the Bergy.

I think the problem with many commercial wind generators is they are virtually hand made. With little or no economies of scale.
Really the technology involved in a wind generator is mature enough that there is no resion why they could not be mass produced like TV sets or washing machines.
But what is the market for them?

On a more serious note: Thanks for the pictures; nice work. I hail from
southern California and it's nearly-perfect weather here year round. We
actually pay money just to visit the snow!
You've come to the right place. Many of us here, myself included, are of
the idea that technology is something to be shared and not hoarded.
Anything I post here is offered free for the taking and I think that holds
true for the rest of the crew too.
It boils down to greed. Everyone who has ever visited my home machine
shop usually says right off the bat, "You should patent this stuff!" Their
idea is that I should hoard the ideas and charge folks for sharing them.
My own intentions here are to build workable alternative energy projects
that anyone can make in their home shop.
I learned one of life's greatest lessons in kindergarten and that was that
we "share" the big wooden blocks. I also learned that there's absolutely
nothing that can't be sorted out over graham crackers, a cup of milk and
a little nap!

Hi Antero,
I think what you have said is constructive criticism. The manufacturers will construct something new from your criticism.
My windmills do not stop long enough for birds to stop and perch.
I have never seen a dead bird under my mills either, and there are many wattle birds, honeyeaters, starlings, crows, seagulls, swallows, parrots, etc that fly past.
Gordon.

There should be obligatory classification and certification to all small windgenerators before they are allowed to been sold.
As soon as possible.
