I've written up a little page about swept area. I see a few posts and builds where the hub and blade mounts are compromised for the sake of a little inner swept area. But the inner swept area is returning so little power its surprising. Anyway, this is the page, feel free to shoot down in flames or make a few suggestions. I think I got the maths right.

good one Gizmo, I still think you should add to the re-wiring page,
two things, the delta only option for 7X2C as it suits the 60S for 24V systems well and the 7Phase delta that Gill (RIP) drew up (Complicated) as there is also a reasonable about of interest would suit an 80S for 24V well also and we have it there.

Hi Glenn ,
I think you have some very valid points there , with the use of these new Aluminium blades with no twist or taper and the way they perform I am starting to doubt whether the inner section of the blade does anything but go along for the ride , as my dual starts in virtually no wind and has more power than is needed in high wind , of course in blades relying on the inner section for strength at the hub to root would be different unless spaced out on bars , but that then throws the calcs for the right twist at a given radius out .
The other win I see which has been my bug bear for some time , is a better wind flow to the tail to keep the blades square to the wind would be improved , I do agree the astetics would be comprimised .
