Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Microsoft announced a change to the color scheme that is used in the Console.
This will greatly improve the readability of many background/foreground combinations.

You can even change the color palette! for even more choices.Edited by MicroBlocks 2017-08-04

There seems to be a bit more than that. In your link above there is a link to more info on colours.

One of the blogs at the above link has this item
FWIW though; we’re in a state of transition: Now that the Windows Console supports most VT/ANSI sequences
He is referring to later builds of Win 10. I did some checking and this capability was recently introduced.

For those people with a fully updated Win 10, MMBasic for DOS may be able to issue ANSI sequences that work. I haven't tested it so far as I don't run MMB for DOS. I may try in several days when I get back home.

I recall that there was a recent thread which talked about cursor positioning etc. This may negate the need for this development unless you're still running backward versions of Windows.
