Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hey TassyJim,

Is it possible to change the default colors/colours used in MMedit?
I'd like to change the default color/colour of the comments to something that stands out a bit more when printing. I was thinking a green but it clashes with stuff in quotes. Maybe a mid blue? Orange? Smaragdine? Coquelicot? Glaucous? Amaranth?

I love using MMedit, but I'm finding I'm using Notepad++ more and more these days because I can change little things like this, have more than one file open at a time and can 'fold' subs/functions.

Cheers,

GTG!

From the help, under Configure/Editor colours
  Quote  The Editor and VT terminal colours are store in "colours.inf" the file can be found in the data folder.

All folder locations are shown in Help/About...

If you edit colours.inf, do not change the number of lines or the order of the lines.

The standard file is:

Selected Foreground = 255 255 255
Selected Background = 000 000 128
Active line = 245 245 210
Line number = 000 000 000
background = 255 255 255
comment = 130 130 130
keywords = 000 000 255
numbers = 255 000 000
quote = 050 180 050
branch = 150 000 150
normal text = 000 000 000
line marker = 000 128 255
brace highlight = 000 000 255
bad brace = 255 000 000
indent guide = 200 200 200
call tips back = 251 251 249
white space back = 250 250 250
VT black = 000 000 000
VT red = 205 000 000
VT green = 000 205 000
VT yellow = 225 225 000
VT blue = 000 000 255
VT magenta = 205 000 205
VT cyan = 000 205 205
VT white = 255 255 255

Colours for editor and VT terminal.
Do not change the order or number of lines.

The colour are defined by RED GREEN BLUE, each ranging from 0 to 255 with a single space character between each value.

If you prefer grey instead of yellow for comments in the VT terminal, change
VT yellow = 225 225 000
to
VT yellow = 130 130 130

You will have to restart MMEdit for the change to take effect

Aha!

That's where I was going wrong, I was modifying the colours.inf file in the install directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\CCom\MMedit\data) and wondering why no changes were happening...

Thanks Jim!
