OK, try this...

dd(0)=encodeDigit(d(0)\1000)
dd(1)=encodeDigit(d(1)\100)
dd(2)=encodeDigit(d(2)\10)

On save, some javascript converts the single \ to doubles, before PHP gets its greasy fingers on it and tries to treat it as a weird escape character.
The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now.
