The answer is "no" While there has been a lot of firmware updating going on at the moment, this will settle down soon and updates will probably be a few times a year. Jim Edit. I suspect it doesn't, in which case the answer is no. If that's the case, once programmed it could do so if that initial program added that feature, but that would still leave the overall answer as no. You don't need a PC, anything running Linux (for example) will do, if it can connect to the CMM2.  E.g. a Raspberry Pi.  I provided a detailed write-up. John
GregZone Senior Member Joined: 22/05/2020 Location: New Zealand Posts: 114	Posted: 07:15am 02 Jul 2020       Even if you could boot from SD card, wouldn't you still need a PC to obtain the SD Card image and then write it out to an SD Card? Even if you bought a pre-written "boot" SD Card, you'd still need a PC in order to apply firmware updates (as the CMM2 doesn't have Internet access to download updates directly). Of course, if you don't have a PC and you want a CMM2, then just buy a pre-assembled CMM2 (instead of a kitset), and live with the fact that a later firmware update is going to require someone with a PC (either way).

I'm now wondering who has no PC and not even something they could use or borrow yet would buy a CMM2.  If they exist, get it programmed :) John
