Deciding if I should build this solar heater

My first thought is that vertical and north facing will produce little heat in the early morning when its most valuable. But you could probably overcome that with one or more fixed mirrored reflectors suitably aimed to catch the early morning sun, without losing anything during the rest of the day. These commercial "power towers" usually actively track the sun throughout the entire day, but I see no reason why one or more fixed reflectors could not be arranged to boost output at a particular time of day. A few mirrored tiles could easily double the heat output. A large number of tiles, the heat increase could be quite dramatic.
