My son is a E-7 in the US marines and often gets deployed to Australia for support on SH60 and AH-60 Apache and not to piss anyone off but his 30 something take on Aussie marines was they can’t seem to even wipe their own asses without help. Sounds like a leadership problem not a people problem. He does quite enjoy his time there and has nothing but admiration for Aussies it’s just the problems he sees make him shake his head in bewilderment. My son has excelled at everything he’s done in the Marines and says he feels like a geek when he repairs things that are head scratching for even the factory employees. They worked on a problem with a device that obviously does some accelerometer and gyro things and after days of factory reps and techs trying to figure it out he takes and compares it to another help because something looks off. He comes back and says the factory installed the cover/mounting bracket backwards. Sure enough they installed it upside down and it worked. Yes, I am bragging and if more countries made bigger incentives for geeks in the military some problems would go away. My sons reward has been rapid promotion. |
