Hi Mike, Thanks for sharing the pictures of your inverter (guts) as expected it is different to the one I use, I always assumed that the reason it was called a HF inverter was because of the High Frequency converter inside, low voltage DC to high voltage DC, then from the High voltage DC rail they run 4 IGBT's to convert it to AC output, some are referred to as using chopped DC, other's I'm sure are more like a normal inverter just running from a high voltage DC supply. I could post a photo of the one I had (it has a single transformer in the converter) but that would be straying off topic a bit.
