Need a cheap Multi Funktion printer

Hi , after searching in the www iam not shure about a new Multifunction printer ( scan, copy, print) . Maybe
You have a Tipp for me ?

Check if it can print double sided. I got burned last time expecting the expensive HP laserprinter would do. NOT...

As always the question is "what is the requirement?" How much do you print? What is more important initial cost or consumables cost? Do you need to print high quality photos? Do you need duplex printing? Does it need wifi, a network port, or just USB? Does it need a card reader? Does physical size matter?

Once you have nailed down your requirements then the first big decision is ink-jet or laser and this is largely driven by the answers on photo printing and consumables cost.

Palcal,

ALWAYS check the price and expected life of the consumables as these will be the most expensive part of owning a printer

I would add, Do you want to be able to print using a printer language like PCL?
This opens up the ability to print from a wider range of programs/devices.

Yes, do you use it daily and often. Documents or pictures.
If I could justify it I would go for a laser printer but can't so stick with old epson stylus dx4400 and fake cartridges. After a year of non use it still works so fake inks just need a shake and there's a reset hole. The scanner is fine.

I read that a pcb circuit printed on a laser printer can be ironed on to a copper blank pcb board then etched.

I've been told that too, Stan, but I've never got it to work satisfactorily. I've tried various papers with different ironing temperatures and pressures but with no luck so far. Then I discovered that it was probably cheaper to buy 100x100 pcbs from JLCPCB than it was to buy transfer paper, chemicals etc. and success is 100%. :)

Back in the 70's I printed on mylar film then exposed copper clad board to UV
for about 10 minutes. For more intense boards it was rub on to the film at
10:1 then reduced to file 1:1. The hard part was drilling a few 100 holes.

Have been using JLCPCB for years now. I wanted to use board houses state side
but cost was way to high for small runs.

Only time I used the iron transfer was from a few magazine projects. Worked ok
but still used a marker to darken a few thicker traces.

A run of 25 power supply boards was all hand drawn. Not bad but again drilling
all the holes was a pain.
