The amplifier is a differential amplifier. So it amplifies the difference between A and A-. In case of mono, you hear theretically nothing. Small differences between A and A- are amplfied. In case you have mono with counterfase signals, this results in a ver good loud audio. When A and A- are stereo, your loudspeaker will give the difference betwwe L and R.
