The attached ZIP contains a Windows 64bit exe and a Linux exe with bracket/brace highlighting.
I am unable to tell if it makes typing slow.

It should correctly match (), [], {} and <>.
The choice was all or nothing.
It knows about comments and strings.
I don't think it has stuffed up anything but needs more testing.
