Though at less than 1 GBP per PCB I'm not sure it's waste using one as the backplate, especially since it is printed with useful information about OPTIONS and pin allocation. In the manual, bigmik has described a clever method using the extra board when soldering the male headers used for mounting the modules. The extra board is worth it just for that. Bill
