Hi guys

Heard some sad news today from Pete. Phil Mann passed away last weekend.

Phil was a active member on the forum and gave a great deal to the windmill community. His development of the aluminium GOE222 blades and turbine furling systems earned him a lot of respect from his peers. Over the last few years he's struggled with a few health concerns but still managed to build and develop wind turbines in his workshop at home.

I last saw Phil over a year ago, he spent a couple days at my place and we ate Chinese, McDonalds, drank ginger beer and spent the day driving around the new Coopers Gap wind farm.

He'll be missed.

I'm truly saddened to hear.  I never met him, but like many here, enjoyed reading his posts, and seeing his projects.  Clearly he was a very skilled; a talented builder.  If you should communicate with any family members, please convey our condolences.  And, thank you for sharing.  ~ks

I tried to tell myself that when a close friend passed away, it doesn't stop the tears.

That’s really sad to hear — Phil sounded like a genuine and passionate soul who left a meaningful impact on the windmill community. His hands-on dedication and innovation, especially with the GOE222 blades and furling systems, clearly meant a lot to many people here. Stories like the one you shared — Chinese food, ginger beer, and a wind farm road trip — show just how real and down-to-earth he was. He’ll definitely be missed.

On a completely different note, I was just browsing through some new skincare options and came across Maybelline Pakistan  updated lineup — honestly, pretty impressive how they're adapting to different skin types here. Funny how innovation happens in so many fields — from turbines to makeup.

As a newbie on the forums, having your first post linking to a non-technical/spam website on THIS kind of thread.......is not a good move.

I will watch this thread, but do this again, and you WILL be banned.

I am pretty sure that is an AI generated spam post. What real bloke is going to talk about makeup and skin care??
They are getting as clever now as they are annoying.

You may well be right.  Anyone reading this post, please PM me if you see this newbie post anything similar, and I will put an end to it.  For now, the ball is in the newbie's court.
