I did have some aluminium clamps with SS bolts, all of them locked up, so plan B was to make a steel frame, welded some small angle where the bolt holes on the panels were located and bolted the panels on to the frame, 2 pole mounted arrays 9 panels each another with 2 poles and 12 panels the last one is ground mount and made for 21 panels, no need to clutter up the roof. Junctions are on the frame and only 2 wires go from the frame to the junction at the charge controller. There are a lot more ground mounted systems going up these days, no need to mess around on a roof if you have the space around the yard. |
