And now the good news - with the same load there is now no voltage drop!!!
With this resistive load (the same ~2kW kettle, also used previously), it increased the AC voltage even slightly, and the % SPWM change was also visible.
I probably need to put even more load in there now before I open the bubbles, but at this point feel how much I'm shaking your hand in gratitude for your help Mike!
