Is Kicad 8 stable ?
I don't know if it is the pc or Kicad but I am finding quite a few uh "idiosyncracies" with Kicad 8. Really thinking of trying another pcb package.

EG a trace to a via. Screen display shows apparently normal trace.
On investigation, the properties show it has a width of 0. Rechecking the screen shows a slight difference from other traces, that only is visible under high magnification.
Viewing the Gerber file shows trace in some viewers but not others, so I guess it will be hit-and-miss whether it fabricates or not.
