Daniel,
That's really interesting because I thought that when I attempted this before, that I HAD to link to gp13 after trying to use pullups directly and failing to get it working. I had assumed exactly what you are saying, that gp13 was selected to use the level shifter board used, but then decided that gp13 must be toggled - or somehow play into it after not having success, but I'll have to give it another try!
And still, you may want to consider the possibility that the user does not want to shift up to 5v signals and provide a way to select the 'high side' voltage level with a jumper?

Initially I wondered too what role should GP13 play? You only have a CLOCK and a DATA signal, so what's GP13 for? It is only acting as a supply for 3v3. I measured GP13 and it is set on HIGH = 3v3. So I connected my pullups to the 3v3 pin directly and it works fine.
Yes, I am working on it, to allow this. Seems to be a good idea!

That's a nice idea, totally forgot VGA design 2! But I am designing my own PCBs anyways, but this is a great idea for a new design (taking design 2 as a "template"!) good that you mentioned this, maybe others on the forum want to try this, too.
