In my development version the buffered driver fully supports OPTION AUTOREFRESH and REFRESH. With AUTOREFRESH OFF nothing happens on the screen until either it is turned on again or a REFRESH command is called. I'll have a look at enabling BLIT FRAMEBUFFER in the background but no promises
UPDATE Looked at BLIT FRAMEBUFFER and the answer is no. The data from the framebuffer has to be buffered as it is converted to RGB565/RGB888. At the moment this happens line by line with multiple writes to the display. If it was done in one step there would have to be a large temporary memory area created by the command which would likely cause the program to run out of memory. Moreover, that temporary memory area would need to exist until the background update had taken place. Edited 2025-07-26 18:35 by matherp |
