Hi Martin, It is a replacement cipher (Caesar Cipher), where the first number in the string is the offset. So each string is shifted in the alphabet depending the first character (number) in the string. The decoder starts at line 10000. I'll play it a bit Thursday night (it typically takes lot of time to create the map) although this one ('only' 18kbyte in MMBasic size) may be simpler. This brings fond memories when I played with my older nephew, who did have a TRS80 before I ever got a computer. I can't remember what we played, but it was similar to this, and it was exciting. I do remember that we had to drive 50 miles to Eindhoven (he had a car), and spend his money to buy the memory expansion for his TRS80, 50 miles back, before we could run the program. That must have been in '79 or '80. Volhout spoiler.zip Edited 2025-10-02 00:28 by Volhout |
