WAV files play flawlessly, cos I guess this is just streaming uncompressed audio data directly to the DAC, which is probably effortless as far as the CPU usage is concerned.   But MP3 requires that intermediate decoding step, and maybe that is stressing things.   BUMP!   Peter?
