Something I forgot to mention, if the motor isn't new measure the value of the start capacitor. A few times I have encountered motors where the measured capacitance was much less than the marked value. Worth testing.
The reduced starting torque results in a slower start at full mains volts but if the voltage sags with the high inrush it may not start at all. Eg. on a long extension lead it may just sit and hum till the overload trips. Or in your case the inverter shuts down.
Cutting open those caps. open found they had 2 or 3 smaller caps inside, with one or two open circuit. |
