Hi Phil, it is a new motor. I will try it with a larger capacitor added as a starting cap and see how that goes. If that works then I will get an electronic starting switch for it. For now it is working with the air gun spinning it up a bit then hitting the starter. Once I start it it runs great. The capacitor on it at the moment is 50 uf , I think I have a much larger motor start cap in the shed so will dig it out and see how that goes. I know it only needs to be in for a second or two, so will just experiment and see. I have a short 15amp lead that I am using for it, so no long leads. I have seen many air compressors killed by long leads. Cheers Pete |
