Thanks to the father and son team who pointed out the circuit diagramme for the PicLog ver 1.2 had a error. The back emf damper diode across the relay coil was shown the wrong way around! Arghh.
I've fixed the circuit diagramme, and updated the Zip file to include the corrected circuit.
Sorry to anyone who was caught by this.
