I got your posting, Lloyd.
As for my wind projects, I don't have access to a machine shop, so I tend to look through scrap yards for things that will work with as little modification as possable, and then do what I can with hand tools.
I have been looking for a good, low speed generator that I can make out of things I can find in a junk yard. I would like to find a large stepper motor or a servo that I can pick for cheap. The only problem is that I don't know a lot about servo motors so I am not really sure what I am looking for exactly. There are plenty of small steppers such as the ones used in coomputer printers and the sort. But I was wanting to do something on a bit larger scale.
O.K. I guess I am just getting a bit excited about finally having a place to chat with others who share my interest in wind energy. LOL |
