Bill A1) Thanks Bill, my father had actually flown over it a few times during WWII, and I know the kids of the day had a lot of navigation problems, and needed to go on dead reckoning before they got lost. A2) Trick question. So it is a matter of how they have spun the world on that axis. Looks like Australia just missed out, and New Zealand won. I went very close to flying over the south pole on one of those Qantas special Antarctic flights, but at 18,000 ft, you couldn't see a lot of detail. Cheers Don... https://www.dontronics.com
