Hey Bruce,
There is a place called "telephone wreckers" at Loganholme, -not to far from you. I went in their the other day and he had piles of things that you might be interested in. I bought 2x 12v 12ah batter from him for $26 each, so isnt overpriced.
Worth a look if you still want those converters ?
