Here is the B-H curve of a IE transformer taken from a cheap UPS.
I think it was 600VA and had 2 x 12V 7AH SLA batteries.
You get about 15 minutes run time when you have a typical low
spec office PC and LCD monitor as the load.
This is at 50Hz:
This is a lot of saturation.
No wonder the UPS is cheap to buy. And the battery powered run times are poor.
