What I have found that you did not mention is that Offgrid is more reliable than the grid. Such as what happened in SA a little while ago and when ex-cyclone Debbie went through our area our lights were still on but all the neighbours were in the dark for nearly 3 days. If you are worried about the banks and the financial world collapsing you may be better off buying gold.
