Yes, biasing the gate drive to -5 or so volts is the best way to go.
We need a drive that has a low output of -5V and a high output of +15
all with respect to the FET's Source pin.

That will reduce to nearly zero the shoot through.
How to do it...
Some designs I've seen use pulse transformers with a DC negative bias
applied to the output. Others don't use the pulse transformers at all.
