Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Greetings from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! Thank you for accepting me into your community.

I've only recently (this past weekend when our main power went out for a couple of hours) begun to think about building a very small 'emergency' lighting system for my humble home using an alternative power source. I know very little about wind and electricity, but I'm anxious to learn. I'm hoping that I won't need a degree in engineering to accomplish my goal. If it goes well and I have fun, I’ll set my sights higher for another project, like keeping the refrigerator running. I don’t see myself leaving the grid, but who knows!

I won’t be a regular here as far as posting goes, but won’t be shy if I have a question.

Thanks again.

Brian
