Hello, my user name is jkis, meaning Just Keep It Simple, real name is Stuart.
we live about 45 mins north of newcastle, on 10 acres, but really wanted 100, so i try to compact things to fit in, i am a scrounger by nature always looking for bit's and pieces to make, fix, or modify something,
my interests are solar power, wind power, water power, solar hot water, biodiesel, fishing and general DIY projects and horses. and wanting back onto dirt bikes ;)
i'm week on electric motors, alternators and electronics in general and that is why i joined this site.
looking forward to the learning curve, and really appreciate the work you guy's have done on the site all ready, i hope to be able to contribute were i can.

Welcome.
There are many nice people here, and you can talk about just about anything of interest(inside the forum rules, naturally), and someone will chime in.
I can't count how many times members here have helped me out with a technical problem - that is the beauty of a well driven forum.
The forum administrator(Gizmo) is very active here, and polices the forums superbly, so trolls and spammers basically don't exist here, which is nice, cos not all forums are so actively policed.
So, welcome again, and please do post your questions etc in the relevant forum - I find members here are all very keen to help each other, so don't be afraid to ask anything.
Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops!
thank you Grogster, i did read a bit then joined, i have since read a lot more and can really appreciate the help for people here, some real interesting projects too.
