Gday all, Hoping for some advise if anyone can. I have had the inverter for 20 odd years and works great. It has operated the selectronic solar reg since I installed both . 2018 I installed the DC generator again operated by the SA22 and it has worked perfectly. It has two control wires joining the two to start and stop on battery % My question is,would it possible to have a manual switch wired into the same two control wires to start and stop the generator? Also could those same wires turn on a small indicator light inside the house to show the generator is running? Any help appreciated Bush.

Yes its possible Bush The SA22 will be connected to a relay , and the relay contacts will switch the two wires to the generator. it could be conected another way but this would be the most common.
how far away is the house from the SA22 & generator.

Thanks pd The generator is about 30m from SA22 but heavy cables going to it and currently working perfectly being controlled by the SA22. So to put a manual toggle switch in to turn on and off manually would I just splice into the same cables and when switched to contact on in the switch they would then trip the relay that is on the generator?

I need sum more information
Have a look at the configuration of the SA22 and see witch output is being used for generator start.
Then se where the wire for that output connects to Once you have found the generator start relay your manual switch will connect across the contacts of that relay " NOT the coil of that relay " do not run the cables close to any other mains cables.
Have a look at P:35 of the manual your switch should connect across the contacts that are drawn as going to the generator/pump
in the example in the manual pin 17 Output 1 is being used to control the generator

Sorry for delay PD,life been bit hectic. Pic is what I did at the time of wiring up the generator. Not sure if that helps shed any light on it?

You can connect up your manual switch to pin 87 and 30 on the generator relay that's mentioned in the selectronic manual
This will only allow you to manually start the generator and stop it if it was manually started.
for an indicator light you could run one from the generator. an output from the generator that is live when the generator is running would be best or you could use the wire that operates the fuel solenoid.
Turn off the power & disconnect the battery before changing anything one little tap of the wrong wires together will blow up the electronics
