How can the elec. retailers sell it at $0.27 when wholesale cost was $68.00 even if only for a few days or so? It will eat up cash reserves real fast. Some retailers have gone tits-up already. I've been looking into Amber electric. It's an interesting business model. You pay the wholesale price which can change every 5 minutes. A few people are playing the market with their batteries (power walls). Have a look at the Amber electric Facebook group. The drawback is that the price can go up to $19 per kWh! That's not a typo. It has done this over the last few months, but only for a few minutes at a time. Amber also text you when they predict shock prices. And amber is legally obliged to offer a safety net for customers if they end up paying more on average than the mandated default offer |

paying wholesale? that might work. Not right now though, it's $514/MWhr or $0.51/kWhr The past year's wholesale cost is  It's a log scale too. Average was $0.14/kWhr with about 1/2 the year less than $0.10 We can see the price rise dramatically in recent months thanks to world events and local generator's gouging. wronger than a phone book full of wrong phone numbers |

NEM watch has interesting stuff on it too. Shows how much power is being generated and used in each state. at we had our mains supply abolished about 4 years ago. No blackouts, no power bills, no problems. Pete |
