Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

The modern grid inverters do not consume power from the grid at night, ala no display.
Get used to reading first thing in the morning. and comparing log data.

yes your correct, I read the manual (cover to cover) last night, it says that it uses zero power at night, but does not say that the display is turned off (would have been handy for them to state this)
but as the sun came up this morning the unit sprang to life (7:30 am making 80watts...
so as you said just have to jot down the stats before the sun goes down..
Thanks!!!

From my experience the number of Kw/h mad in the last 30 minutes of the day is modest so it is not that critical that you check it at dusk.
My sunny boy inverter also goes blank at night.

not having experiance with them, it was a fear factor that the unit had $hit it`s self on day one. but knowing they blank out at night is ok. (now that i know)
it is more a "handy" factor to be able to record daily stats in the night, as that when i get home....after dark
Cheers,
made 6 kwh hours today!!

Noticed just as the sun goes down (not quiet enough power to run the fronius)
it flashes the front lcd and ilumination LEDs wildly..
flashing the whole display + LEDS and on off, on and off.
for maybe 5-8 minutes then goes off till morning...
is this normal?
i know that most electronic things dont like this kind of repeated on/off cycle.
i would have thought there would be voltage guard bands to stop the attempted startups on marginal output..??
